Evening Programs

Programs 1 & 2 can be presented separately or combined on the one evening to both children and their parents/carers. 

All lessons can be presented live in school and online.

Program One

Duration: 1 hour.

Attendees: Parents or carers and their children.

Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes.

How to Talk to Your Children About Tough Topics: Sex, Pornography, Consent and Puberty

This program explores some of the challenges that parents and carers face when raising children in our technically advanced and rapidly changing society. Talking about sexual health topics is tough. The main aim is connection with our children and attendees will be challenged and equipped to make a difference in their children’s lives.

Topics include:

  • Why do we need to talk about sexual health topics?
  • What influences us? What stops us?
  • What does sexual health education actually mean?
  • Practical tips for teaching body safety and consent from a very young age
  • How to talk about sex with your child
  • Changing our mindsets

Day programs

  • Schools can select a student Program with 1, 2 or 3 lessons. 
  • These lessons may be used as a follow-up after the evening child/parent program or be a stand-alone program.
  • Each lesson is one and a quarter-hours over one, two or three weeks (in school hours) in classrooms with a teacher present at all times. 
  • All lessons can be presented live in school and online.
  • Students are given a workbook.

Duration: 45 minutes

Keeping Our Bodies Safe

  • How amazing and unique we are!

Duration: 45 minutes.

Positive Periods

  • Understanding periods – what, why, when and how periods happen
  • A recap of puberty and the changes we can expect
  • The reproductive system
  • The menstrual cycle explained
  • Signs of a first period -what to expect and how to be prepared
  • PMS – how to be prepared, cope and be positive
  • How to use pads, period undies and tampons
  • Common myths about periods
  • How amazing and unique we are!

Program Seven

Duration: 45 minutes.

Attendees: Students in Years 4, 5 and 6

 

Be Wise With Your Eyes

In our rapidly changing world pornography is being viewed by children at a much earlier age. The negative effects of pornography can be long lasting. This program covers:

  • How amazing and unique we are!
  • Stereotypes and respect
  • Understanding what pornography is, in an age-appropriate way.
  • Providing children with the tools needed to know what to do if/when they see pornographic material.
  • Issues of consent
  • Children are empowered to have a plan of action for who to tell and how to respond if/when they see pornographic material.

Program Fourteen

Duration: 

  • Lessons for Kindergarten – Year 2 are 45 minutes.
  • Lessons for Year 3 – 6 are 1 hour.

Attendees: Students only, in their classroom.

 

K-6 Classroom Lessons Covering Consent Curriculum

Each year group is taught an age-appropriate lesson that covers foundational content about consent and body safety. By presenting these lessons to K-6 classes annually, students will be able to build on the content presented to them the prior year.

Lessons are designed to cover the required curriculum as outlined by the Australian Department of Education.

A Kid’s Guide To Bodies and Babies is my second interactive course and is about our bodies, how babies are made and more. It is also perfect for both parents/carers to do with their pre-teens but can also be completed by a child independently. There are two separate courses for children aged 7-9 years or 9-12 years.

  • Our programs support the education outcomes in any state. They can easily support an already existing curriculum in any school.
  • Our presentations can be flexible and can be modified to suit your school community’s specific needs and target audience.
  • All our programs reinforce the important message that we are all incredibly different, diverse, yet AMAZING!
  • ‘Amazing Me’ programs support Stage 2 and 3 of the NSW Board of Studies Personal Development syllabus outcomes.
  • Schools will be invoiced for day program payments. Evening programs can be booked and paid for through the a provided link. 
  • Cancellation fees apply.
  • Please note that at least one teacher must attend each program. 
  • One parent or carer needs to accompany a child to the Evening Programs.
  • By purchasing a ticket, parents consent to receiving emails from Amazing Me.
  • ‘Amazing Me’ programs can be delivered in person at school or live online.
